Intradermal Syringe

Company : Bioject Medical Technologies Inc

UMDC Code : 108133

Intradermal injections are shallow, delivering medication between the layers of the skin. A successful intradermal injection creates a "wheal," or raised bump on the skin. This type of injection is very difficult to administer with a traditional needle because of the high level of skill and accuracy required. Since the layers of the skin are so thin, it is easy to accidentally punch through to the deeper subcutaneous layer when using a needle. Bioject's prototype needle-free intradermal injection system may prove to be a faster and more repeatable method for administering this type of injection.
