Definition : Uterine endometrium biopsy curettes designed to remove tissue from the internal lining of the cervical canal. These curettes are typically single-use synthetic (e.g., nylon), handheld, manual instruments that can remove superficial cells with minimal damage to the tissue. Uterine cervix biopsy curettes are used to obtain histologic tissue samples from the endocervical canal for early detection of endocervical carcinoma (e.g., cervical cancer screening tests).
