Definition : Cushions designed to be attached to the upper end of axillary crutches. These cushions are crescent shaped and usually made of padded washable soft fabric or plastic materials; they are usually attached to the crutch using hook and loop straps or slipped onto the tops of the crutches. Crutch cushions are intended to alleviate the pressure and prevent friction under the armpit, reducing the possibility of skin breakdown.
