Definition : Decontamination units designed to physically (e.g., through mechanical means) remove contaminants such as chemical and biological agents and toxic industrial materials from the equipment surface. Some units are also used for skin and/or personal-gear decontamination. Physical-removal decontamination units that employ high-pressure water, steam, high-pressure gases, particulates, and ultrasound are available.
