Definition : Dentures designed for insertion over one or more remaining teeth, roots, or implants for replacement of one or more, but not all, teeth in the upper (i.e., maxilla) or lower (i.e., mandible) jaw. These dentures are typically a removable, custom-made prosthesis that includes porcelain or resin teeth attached to a movable metal (e.g., titanium) or polymer (e.g., acrylic) base with attachments that fit on the remaining dental parts and the alveolar ridge.
