Electrode Caps, Electroencephalographic

Definition : Caps that fit over a patient's head and have plastic electrode holders into which electrodes are plugged, eliminating the need for glue or paste to attach electrodes directly to the scalp. These caps are typically made of an elastic fabric, are available in different sizes (e.g., infant, child, adult), and available in layouts that can hold 16, 32, 64, 128, 160, or 256 electroencephalography electrodes. Caps may come with chin and/or ear straps that help to keep the cap securely in place.
