IVD Test Reagent/Kits, Clinical Chemistry, Electrolyte

Definition : Clinical chemistry reagents intended to perform qualitative and/or quantitative chemical analysis in a sample of a body fluid (typically serum or plasma) to determine the level of substances that dissociate into ions capable of conducting electricity (i.e., electrolytes). The most common electrolytes measured in clinical chemistry assays are sodium (Na+), potassium (K+), chloride (Cl-), and bicarbonate (HCO3-), but other electrolytes, such as magnesium (Mg++), are also frequently determined.
