IVD Test Reagent/Kits, Clinical Chemistry, Lipid, Cholesterol, High-Density Lipoprotein

Definition : Clinical chemistry reagents intended to perform qualitative and/or quantitative chemical analysis to determine the level of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) in serum. High levels of HDL-C in serum (typically defined as greater than 35 mg/dL) are associated with low risk of atherosclerosis and coronary artery diseases; the absence of HDL-C is characteristic of a cerebrovascular disorder known as Tangier disease.
