IVD Test Reagent/Kits, Immunoassay, Rapid Test, Drug-of-Abuse

Definition : Immunoassay reagents intended to perform qualitative and/or quantitative analyses of a sample of body fluids (typically urine, but also serum and plasma) to determine in a short period of time, typically several minutes, one or more of a group of drugs that have a high potential of abuse, including amphetamines, barbiturates, cocaine, morphine, and opiates. Reagents for rapid determination of drugs of abuse are especially useful in emergency situations. Forensic tests to confirm the results are usually performed using selective ion monitoring with gas chromatography/mass spectography (GC/MS) techniques.
