Money Handling Drawers

Definition : Containers resembling a sliding box that can be push in and pull out from a structure that are intended for handling money. These drawers typically consist of a metallic box with several compartments that includes a lock, ball bearings, an ejection mechanism, and hold downs to secure the bills. Some cabinets include slots for bills, cards, or other documents and a cable for interfacing with cash register systems. Money handling drawers are available in a variety of sizes, configurations, and colors; they are mainly used as a component of cash registers (e.g., at point of sales).
