Definition : Laser scanning systems that use two or three laser beams to scan an object surface and convert the information in a three-dimensional (3-D) computerized image. These devices can obtain topological images of parts or the whole human body that are used in procedures such as planning and evaluating results of plastic surgery and determination of the cosmetic outcome of prostheses.
