Definition : Endoscopes designed for direct insertion into the urinary tract for visual examination, biopsy, removal or crushing of stones, and treatment of lesions of the urethra. Urethroscopes usually consist of an outer sheath, a lighting system, and a working channel for catheters and operative devices.
