
Radiographic/Tomographic Systems, Multidirectional
Definition : Radiographic/tomographic systems that use a pattern of x-ray tube movement (e.g., spiral, elliptical, circular) that provides blurring in both directions of the plane. These systems are mostly used to examine the lungs and other soft tissue having little natural contrast, particularly using narrow-angle tomography (i.e., zonography).
