Definition : Clinical chemistry reagents intended to perform qualitative and/or quantitative chemical analyses of body fluids (typically serum) to determine total content of the enzyme acid phosphatase (ACP), including both prostatic and nonprostatic forms. Total ACP concentration in serum may be elevated in Paget's disease, hyperparathyroidism, cancer metastasis of the bones, and other diseases.
