Definition : Clinical chemistry reagents intended to perform qualitative and/or quantitative chemical analyses of body fluids (typically serum) to determine the level of the enzyme sorbitol dehydrogenase (also known as L-iditol 2-dehydrogenase). A deficiency of the enzyme sorbitol dehydrogenase is used as an indicator of parenchymal liver cell damage.
