Reagents, Immunoassay, Immunology, Cytokine, Interleukin
Definition : Immunoassay reagents intended to perform qualitative and/or quantitative immunologic tests of a sample of body fluids (typically serum) to determine one or more of a group of cytokines known as interleukins (literally "between leukocytes," named IL-1, IL-2). At least 15 interleukins have been identified. Interleukins are produced by hematopoietic cells and act primarily on leukocytes; many of them are related to inflammatory responses and/or to lymphocyte growth, activation, and differentiation.
