Aprons, Infant Evacuation
Definition : Aprons designed for safe evacuation of infants. These aprons are typically made of heavy-duty fabrics (may be fire-retardant) that include several pouches in the front and in the back, with appropriate fasteners to hold the infants secure. They are typically finished in bright colors (e.g., yellow) for easy recognition during emergency situations; some models include pouches for newborns and other models are appropriate for older infants. Infant-evacuation aprons permit hands-free multiple evacuation of infants (typically up to four or five babies) by only one person during emergencies such as environmental contamination, fires, and floods.
