Freezers, Laboratory, Flammable Material
Definition : Laboratory freezers designed to store flammable products (typically liquids with a flash point below 38 degrees Celsius [100 degrees Fahrenheit]), at temperatures from 0 to -20 or -30 degrees Celsius (32 to -4 or -22 degrees Fahrenheit); preventing the ignition of flammable vapors inside the storage compartment. These freezers typically have all electrical components located outside the freezer chamber, and the compressor is sealed or located at the top of the unit; they may also incorporate features such as self-closing doors, magnetic door gaskets, and special inner shell materials that limit the damage if a reaction occurs within the storage compartment. Flammable material laboratory freezers are used whenever a freezer is needed to store flammable liquids; they are available mainly in upright and undercounter configurations.
