Sutures, Metallic, Titanium

Definition : Stainless steel sutures usually made of single filaments (i.e., monofilament) of commercially pure titanium. These sutures are typically available in sterile uncoated thread sections (e.g., 18, 30 inches/45, 76 cm long) that may be attached to a single-use needle as an integral device. Titanium sutures keep their tensile strength for very long periods of time and are not absorbed by tissues; their intended use includes soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including ophthalmic procedures such as canthoplasty.
