Audiometers

Definition : Instruments designed to measure and characterize hearing loss by determining the lowest audible level (i.e., hearing threshold) of a patient for pure test tones, signals (e.g., speech), or both. These devices include tone generators, amplifiers, and sound-level monitors. Audiometers are intended for conducting diagnostic tests for hearing disorders and assisting in other otologic disorders diagnosis.
