Masks, Tracheostomy

Definition : Devices used to deliver oxygen or a mixture of oxygen and air to patients via their tracheostomy airway. The masks are typically connected to an oxygen source with tubing and are constructed of plastic. Tracheostomy masks can be used over a tracheostomy tube or stoma, and are typically fastened around the patient's neck via a disposable strap or ties. These devices are frequently referred to as "trach collars" or "tracheostomy collars."
